with two april birthdays another trip to celebrate was on the agenda this year. we hadn't been to disneyland since mila was a wee 6 months and evia was so excited about showing it all to her little sister. now mila knows the characters and could experience the rides in a whole new light. evia's pretty much favorite person in the world is her cousin isei. i don't think anything seems real to her unless isei is experiencing it with her. so he was an obvious invite (along with the rest of our zavala-counterparts) for our one day trip.
as our road trip before, we were ultra prepared in best-mommy-fashion, with sunscreen, hats, snacks galore, lunch (the almond butter and jellies saved me on numerous occasions), an extra set of clothes and the double stroller! we left at 6:15am and sadly got there three hours later. didn't really think about weekday morning, through la at rush hour, but at least the destination was the "happiest place on earth," so any car woes, were .10 seconds long.
we met up with the gang and hit pirates of the caribbean first. what a ride for mila to experience, as her "first" ride. she had been on it as an infant but was probably asleep. this time, she held close and got a few little thrills from the darkness, drops and splashes. we had a great time throughout the day, as you should at disneyland - the girls getting on the rides they were excited about and isei checking off his favorites. all and all, a great birthday bash!
